Saif Mhiasen is a talented artist based in the United Arab Emirates, known for his evocative works that explore identity and human presence. Born in Dubai, he initially pursued a Bachelor of Architecture at the American University of Sharjah, graduating in 2014.

However, his passion for painting and drawing led him to shift his focus to the arts. Mhiasen’s work is characterized by its meticulous attention to detail and his ability to convey raw, human emotion. He often begins his creative process by photographing his subjects, carefully controlling elements like light and color.

These photographs serve as references for his large-scale oil paintings, which are created using a palette knife to achieve a balance between realistic depiction and the tactile presence of the artist’s hand. His artistic journey has been marked by significant achievements, including winning first place in the Fine Arts category of the Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award in 2012. He was also selected for the prestigious Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship in 2014, a program that nurtures artistic talent in partnership with the Rhode Island School of Design.
