About our gallery
Iyad Qanazea Gallery
We are proud to be one of the early independent contemporary art galleries open in Abu Dhabi in the heart of its city and representing a community of artists from the UAE and the Arab world. Located in Al Mina Street, the gallery is hugged between old Abu Dhabi city in Al Zahiyah and Tourist Club residential areas, while facing the crossroads to new Abu Dhabi’s cultural districts in Mina Zayed and Saadiyat. The gallery’s mandate is to showcase a variety of artists from West Asia, North Africa, South Asia and extending into the Global South at large. Abu Dhabi is a city of crossroads and one that has spread its arm for this region; the gallery wants to be a beacon that conveys the same spirit.
Starting with the rooted stories of the city by works from artists that were the leading pioneers of thought, poems and paintings in Abu Dhabi such as the veteran artist and poet Mohammed Al Mazrouei to other voices from the region both young and established that carry through their contemporary voices the hopes and dreams for a new world of peace and prosperity. The gallery has already exhibited the likes of Palestinian Chicago-based artist Asma Ghanem, Emirati artist Mahra Al Falahi and Lebanese artist Salwa Zeidan. The gallery also represents artists Latifa Saeed and Raouda Al Ketbi.
